Working off 100% renewable energy and completely off the electricity grid the first Canarian farm is on the island of Lanzarote, The farm known as Granja Avícola Morales is ahead of the objectives set out for Europe for 2020 implementing systems that generate zero emissions, compared to the twenty percent reduction proposed. The farm has stopped using 124 tons of CO2. To put it into a perspective normally 6,000 trees would be needed to absorb this pollution. The project is called Conecta Tierra and includes 208 solar panels which have been installed on the roof of the farm. This energy is accumulated in batteries and all that is left over is used to power the electric and sustainable mobile park, which the company is progressively incorporating for its logistics and the mobility of its employees. In addition, the entire project has been executed with local companies to promote the economy and help employment. This is a family business with more than 50 years of experience and its forecast is to continue amplifying this efficient and renewable model to all its facilities in the Archipelago
