Lanzarote to Graciosa Swim

Yesterday 607 atheletes took part in the 26th edition of the swim between Lanzarote and La Graciosa known as El Rio (the river). This year a new route was organised between the islands from previous years for safetey reasons and begun beneath the Famara mountains at Playa Playa de Bajo Risco and finishing at Caleta de Sebo. The youngest participants were just 15 years old and residents of the island. At the start, all the swimmers received commemorative medals for this edition which was dedicated to a past participant Alejandro Candela. The event finished just one hour after the first oerson to arrive in Graciosa. The distance covered was 2.6km
