The Councilor for Agriculture is meeting with experts within the Government of the Canary Islands to find a way to reinstate, in the shortest time possible, the classic insular contest of artisanal wine tasting.

The regional councilor recalled that “this contest that has been held for eighteen years and is has many benefits to the comunitiy. It the brings winegrowers together to evaluate the wines they make manually, without industrial methods.Its a great oportunity for the farmers to takes advantage and talk about the world of wine and share the taste of the traditionaly deep rooted wines on the island.

The council working in conjunction with the Canary Islands Institute of Agrifood Quality (ICCA), are keen to continue celebrating the contest of artisan wines, which has been celebrated for 18 years and which has been suspended this year, at the request of the Regulatory Council, for breaking the food regulations.
