Arrecife airport reached a grand total of 7 million passengers for the year. This is a figure that the airport tries to surpass every year. It was a passenger travelling from Manchester with Thomas Cook and arriving at 2.00 pm who was counted as the 7 millionth person to arrive. They were greeted by the airport operations manager and the directo of the handling agent with a bouquet of flowers and given a free pass to the VIP lounge.
This significant number of passengers is a reflection of the upward trajectory in terms of the number of travelers and operations of the Lanzarote Airport in its more than 70 years of history. Exceeding the seven million passengers in 2017, the Airport consolidates itself as the eighth of the Aena network in traffic volume. Currently, 44 airlines operate in its facilities that connect with more than 90 destinations
